Louise Kozuki

Louise Chiyoko Kozuki, 91, of Hilo, died Aug. 20, 2021, at the Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Hilo, she was a retired secretary for KTA Super Stores and a member of Heritage Christian Fellowship in Hilo.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. Aug. 26 at Heritage Christian Fellowship (165 E. Kawili St. #B) for an 11 a.m. service. Casual attire. Family requests no flowers.

She is survived by daughters, Grace (Greg) Yoshida of Hilo, Debra (Albert) Nakaji of Papaikou, Jeri (Neal) Hagiwara of California, Lisa (Chris) Flaherty of Denver, CO; brother, Isaac (Ruth) Takayama of Papaikou; sister, Promise (Wendell) Grace of Hilo; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joseph Kealoha

Joseph “Uncle Joe” Kahaku Kealoha, 66, of Waimea, died June 29, 2021, at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born Sept. 15, 1954, in Kaimu, Kalapana, he was a retired police officer for the Hawaii County Police Department; employed at Parker Ranch and Liliuokalani Trust in Kona; an Alihikaua, Ali’i in the 7th degree for the Royal Order of Kamehameha I, Moku O Kohala, and a board member for Kipuka O Ke Ola (K.O.K.O.) and the Waimea Hawaiian Homestead Association.

Friends may call at for visitation from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 28 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo; service at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. Friends may also call from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 29 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo for a short service at 11 a.m. Casual attire.

He is survived by wife, Tammy Kealoha; sisters, Rose (Ray) Robinson and Delphine Kealoha; brothers, Gilbert Kealoha, Robert (Cindy) Kealoha and Gibson Napoleon; hanai sister, Aimee; uncle, Colburn Val Ohia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Natsuko Aoki

Natsuko Oshiro Aoki, 91, of Kealakekua, died Aug. 7, 2021, at her residence. Born June 24, 1930, in Maunaloa, Molokai, she was a retired registered nurse, artist and quilter, member of Kona Okinawa Kenjinkai, Kona Kumamoto Kenjinkai, Kinuwai Kumiai, Christ Church Episcopal and Daifukuji Orchid Club, and board member of Kona Adult Day Center.

Services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Kona Adult Day Center, Hospice of Kona or Christ Church Episcopal.

She is survived by sons, Kevin Aoki of Gypsum, CO, Brian (Suzette) Aoki of Surprise, AZ, Warren (Lyn) Aoki of Colorado Springs, CO, and Ron (Andrell) Aoki of Mililani, Oahu; daughters, Shayne (Patrick) Edwards of Marysville, CA, and Diane Aoki of Kealakekua; sisters, Doris Onishi of Hilo and Kikue Shimabukuro of Los Angeles; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Diane Oshima

Diane Setsuko Oshima, 84, of Hilo, died Aug. 3, 2021, at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born Sept. 11, 1936, in Kalopa, she was retired from the Department of Education and was a member of the Niigata Kenjinkai and HGEA Retirees.

Private services held. Family requests no monetary gifts or flowers.

She is survived by son, Darryl Oshima of Hilo; brothers, Takeo (Jackie) Kato of Los Angeles, Masao (Lorraine) Kato of Pearl City, Oahu; sister, Shirley (George) Ito of Hilo; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Jeanette Maa

Jeanette Kam Yau Maa, 90, of Kailua-Kona, died Aug. 11, 2021, at her residence. She was born Feb. 18, 1931, in Hawaii.

Services will be held at a later date.

She is survived by her daughter, Stacie Maa of Berkeley, CA; sons, Steven Maa of Colorado Springs, CO, Jeffrey Maa of Harbor City, CA, Walden Maa of Simi Valley, CA, Marco Hongo of Waipahu, Oahu; brother, Patrick Kong of Honolulu; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
